Fairy cakes /buns

I need to make 4 dozen fairy cakes/iced buns for a party on Friday. Could I make the first batch tonight? I have cake tins to store then in so they will be airtight just not sure if tonight is too early in advance?
Also, would it make any difference if I iced them tonight or not? Mix of butter and glacé icing, not together obviously

I would say go for it now. If they are for kids they won't even notice if they are fresh or not. I would hold on the icing until the day.

It's a mix of adults & children. Not sure if it makes any difference but 2 batches will be chocolate. The other 2 just plain vanilla.

Definitely can't ice them tonight, thanks to tesco for not having any icing sugar for my online shop that's just been delivered!
