Free range chickens

We've switched to free range chickens because it's kind to the animals.

Today's roast chicken had little lumps of yellow fat (I assume) all through it. Is this normal for corn-fed, free range chickens? My Dad's a meat inspector so I get paranoid when meat doesn't look like I expect it to.

Does anyone know?

Great, thanks. Inherited paranoia is a drag.
