Hi everyone

I am a stay at home Mum with a husband and a one year old. I am trying to start my own business selling funny slogan babywear (see ad in business section).
Until the business takes off money is very tight.
Has anyone any good and cheap recipes as to what i can feed my hard working husband

I think stews and casseroles with cheap meats (eg stewing steak, sausages) and plenty of pulses and veg are the way to go. I usually serve sausage casserole (made with not that many sausages but kidney beans, tinned tomatoes, loads of veg) with a jacket potato or you could do it with mash. If I am making a stew I include the potatoes and also add dumplings. These are good hearty meals.

Anything pasta-y is cheap & filling too - make your own sauce with chopped onion, tin of shops own brand chopped tomatoes, bit of garlic, some chopped peppers & mushrooms (get bags of frozen from Iceland or Farmfoods)

Oh and find out if there's a local meat/fish market. We go to Bolton market & we get 5kg of chicken breast fillets (about 25 portions, all really good quality) for £18 and it lasts us ages.
