Recipe app for my shiny new iphone?

Does anyone have recommendations for a recipe app?

I've downloaded the M and S one which gets very good reviews. The first recipe I tried was lovely - Five Spice Pork stir fry, but included an ingredient that doesn't appear to exist. It listed lemongrass, shallot and ginger paste as a stand alone item and I assumed it was an M and S thing. The poor man in the shop spent about 20 minutes looking for it before coming to the conclusion that it doesn't exist. In fact it doesn't exist anywhere and I had to make my own with no idea what I was doing. Tasted fine though.

So, does anyone use an app that they love and that won't make me tear my hair out in frustration?

Yummly is great, it pools recipes from other websites. You can mark the ones you like and collate them as your own personal recipe directory. It's also good if you want to put in ingredients you have, as it will search and suggest dishes you can make.

I like Yummly too, but also Evernote has a food app (can't remember the name of it) which is also good.

Thanks and apologies for not getting back to this thread sooner. There were no answers for ages and I assumed it was dead in the water.

I've used yummly on my laptop, so will give that a look. I didn't know about the ingredients search and that sounds like a great idea. We have food recycling now, I hate to throw food away and I'm constantly trying to think of new ways to use up slightly limp vegetables.

I use MyMeals365, which is free on Google Play. You can save recipes from the web that you find into your own personal 'cookbook'. It's the best app I've tried!
