I always do crumble instead - I find pastry, even shop bought can be a bit hit and miss.

Try Delias crumble - I don't put the almonds in and on another thread someone said they put porridge oats in the crumble. But it is a scrummy recipe

Delia has a couple of recipes you could use as a guide - also the BBC have loads of recipes. We picked blackberries yesterday, so I'll be making apple and blackberry crumble later - yum!

You domestic goddess, you. Glad it went well. I made a blackberry and apple crumble this evening with the blackberries we picked yesterday, and the apples I got from our neighbour. DD(6) turns out to be a champion crumble maker.

Thanks Jackie , i have so much crumble that i am taking it round my sil tomorrow to of load some on them!!! -

I could easily put on some extra weight if i keep making them like that, i dont normally buy pies because i would eat them if they were there so it a nightmare to still have them in the fridge!!!!
