Has anyone made an artists palette cake?

I've just thought that an artists palette cake would be great for my Mum as she's a keen painter.

I was wondering if anyone had make one before and if they have any pictures.

Not yet funnily enough but I'm planning one in September for a colleagues retrial, just starting to think about it now.

Nice idea for your mum and quite a simple shape to carve, or you could do a regular-shaped cake and have the palette on top in fondant.

My SIL just made one last week for my MIL. It was great she did a normal round cake then some tubes of oil paint with paint coming out made out of icing and a pallette with dobs of paint and a paintbrush.
