Anyone got a Tesco Slow cooker?

Hi got a quick question regarding the timings. I'm desperate to make something in this that actually tastes nice. So far nothing has worked.
The settings on my slow cooker are off, Low & High. Now the instructions say High is the 7-8 hours. I did this with a chicken dish and while it smelled great, the chicken itself was a bit dry.

So next time I tried a beef casserole and put it on low but after about 8-9 hours it was still a bit tough, not the melt in the mouth I was hoping for. I've tried browning and not browning the meat.

Anyone got this one and do you use it on high all the time?

TIA

I bought one about a month ago. I cooked a chicken on low for six hours and it was lovely and moist. I stood it on a quartered onion and stuffed it with a lemon and a bulb of garlic. Then last week I made an Italian style ragu and it went pop as I switched it off. Sad I had to go and get a replacement.

I've got ths one - I only ever use low as I only use it when I am on a long day at work.

It's on for about 10 hours - stuff tastes ok.

With beef I cook it in water only and do a sauce heat a jar afterwards. I think the salt in the sauce/gravy can make it tough.

I used to use it on low more often than high.

Thanks everyone. Think i'll try those suggestions. I'll have another go and keep it on low

It will not defeat me (grin)

I usually stick it on high until it's bubbling then turn it to low. No idea how long though as it depends what time I put it on, I just wing it Wink
