Steak recipe help

I'd really like to cook my fiancé a steak dinner, complete with chips, mushrooms, onion rings, tomato, steak and a peppercorn sauce.

I have never ever cooked steak before and want to make sure everything is cooked so it's ready at the same time. Anyone got a fool proof amazing steak recipe?

Get an oven proof griddle pan. Get it hot. Get your steak to room temp,and season with olive oil, salt, pepper. Sear the steak on both sides, then put the pan in the oven for 10 mins.
