A nice garlicky chicken salad,or a Thai duck salad or one of the following sandwiches

Lovely wholemeal bread with chicken, pesto mayo and roast peppers.
Chicken pâté with oatcakes orcrispbreads with red onion chutney
A nice roll with venison pâté and red currant jelly
Or ciabatta with roasted vegetables and a drizzle of chili or basil oil,or a little hummus.

Fresh scones with butter and bramble jelly or strawberry and cracked black pepper jam. Or lavender and honey shortbread.

Another cake would be nice, perhaps a brownie, or Victoria sandwich,or very dark ginger cake,or parsnip ginger and lime cake.Banana bread also works.

Some chopped fruit. A mixture of some of the following,Strawberries, blackberries, mango, apple,Anjou pear, grapes, and lychees.

A small savoury snack such as spiced roasted chickpeas, garlic and rosemary cashews or similar for later.

And one of the following drinks...
Rose lemonade
Ginger beer
Sparkling elderflower and pear
Cream soda with rhubarb
Strawberry lemonade
Iced mint tea

If someone was to bring along some mini pork, pickle and cheese pies I wouldn't complain.

I have spent wayyyy too much time thinking about this. Blush

Agree that an antipasti assortment is lovely - especially grilled artichokes, olives, peppers etc. I once went on a lovely pre-show picnic with my godmother in one of the London parks and she rustled up something along those lines. A perfect godmotherly treat all round!
Then something to drink that's summery and mildly alcoholic, such as Pimms.
