Can I freeze fishcakes?

Just this really. We had salmon and new potatoes the other night, using frozen salmon instead of the usual fresh, to save a few quid. Did not go down well at all with the picky DCs, so there were lots of leftovers.

I have blitzed them up with some Thai style flavours and breadcrumbed some of the mixture. DH and I have just had them for lunch, they were pretty good.

Anyway there's lots of mixture left. Can I even freeze it given that the salmon was previously frozen whilst raw? If so should I breadcrumb them all before I freeze them? Will I then be able to cook them straight from frozen?

Share your wisdom please fishcake experts.

Yes but the potato goes a bit watery on defrost, making cakes a little less solid on cooking, but it's doable with carful frying and only one turn if you can, try to get first side really crispy first.
