Yes. DS1 (11) makes scrambled egg, heats up soup, bakes cakes and bread etc, but his favourite thing ever is to cook sausages and bacon outside on his camping stove for his friends. DS2 (9) makes prawn cocktail and smoothies mostly. He's a bit small to use the hob. Oh, and DS1 makes me tea (out the kettle) and coffee (out the fabby new espresso machine) too. I never thought the day would come when he'd bring me cups of tea as I sit at the PC.

dd 2 1/2 helps me all the time standing on a chair when cooking if i'm doing somthing with hot food then i give her a plastic jug, water and spoon and she plays with that while i'm doing what i'm doing.

Each week we make cakes, biscuits.

I think the sooner you get them helping in the kitchen they get used to cooking when she was younger i would put her in her highchair in the kitchen so we could cook together.

my dd is 14 months and they have started cooking at nursery - well making krisy cakes so no oven involved. Haven't been brave enough to try it at home yet though.

Ds is 3 and has been helping for about a year. i always try to get him involved in simple tasks in the kitchen and explain what we are making and how this ingredient works, etc. He really enjoys it.

mine are 4,3 & 2 and love mixing and icing cakes, cutting out biscuits with cookie cutters, cracking eggs to scramble, spreading stuff on toast & american-style pancakes, making chicken strips(dip chicken into egg/milk then flour, wash hands, counter, floor, ceiling - what a mess!), jelly, mashed potato, sandwiches. 4yr old makes cold drinks by himself.
