Need new food processor, what do you recommend?

My blender has given up and I've decided to get a food processor instead. I have a limited budget. I need to be able to chop onions, slice cabbage for coleslaw, grate carrots. It would be great if I could also make mayo in small amounts (300 ml oil) and beat cake batter, but not essential, I can continue to use my hand mixer for that. Also for liquidising soup or blending pate, again nice but not essential. I don't really want a huge beast sat on the work surface, taking up too much space.

Any recommendations, ones you have used, are happy with, that are easy to clean, maybe even can go in the dishwasher.

I have a Kenwood Prospero. Does everything you mention and more, I absolutely love it. And under £100!

That prospero appears to be the mixer only. I wondered why it was so cheap.
You can buy a prospero that comes with a blender, food processor and juicer attachment. They're usually about £170 now. I have one too and love it. I use at least one part of it daily.

I've got a Magimix. It was expensive but so so worth it.

My mum and brother have the magimix. DM has a Kenwood Chef alongside it, whereas DB's is lined up next to his kitchenaid and a blender. My kitchen is tiny and I just don't have the space for multiple appliances. I do envy DB's large kitchen

What is a rasping disc used for?

I think for stuff like breadcrumbs or Parmesan cheese? Just a guess as I'm not at home so can't go and look in the cupboard and see what it actually looks like.

Good luck with your search, I have a Magimix 3200 but I feel its both too small and a bit too big. I also have a Magimix blender and I hate it. Ideally I'd choose a large capacity food processor and a magic bullet or a stick blender for the small stuff.
And maybe some day someone will generously give me a Vitamix.
