Yep. I can help. This is so easy even I can do it. You need:-

1 chicken with giblets taken out.
1 lemon.
1 onion.
1 bulb of garlic.

Cut the onion into quarters and put them in the slow cooker. Quarter the lemon and put inside chicken, chop the garlic bulb in half across the bulb and insert that too. Place chicken on top of onion, put the lid on and cook on low for six hours.

This method gave me the tenderest, moistest chicken I've ever tasted, it's gorgeous. Let us know how you get on. :)

Or: insert chicken into slow cooker, tiny dribble of water to stop it sticking, put lid on and do on low for about six hours.

Lots of lovely cooked chicken and nice stock to boot.

switch on slow cooker, lift lid, put chicken in, put li back leave to cook.

You could sprinkle mixed dried herbs on before the lid if you like.

Last week I did a layer of sliced onions, then carrots, then chunks of potatoes and sat the chicken on top. poured over very weak, low salt chicken stock to about a third of the way up the potatoes.
Put on low all day whilst at work.

I then took out the potatoes and put them in the oven on 220 to crisp for 20 mins... it was tremendous. The chicken fell apart and the potatoes were really flavoursome after being cooked/steamed in the tasty chicken juices and stock

Ooooooh, liking that idea Gerty

It was a great cheat roast dinner, forgot to mention I added frozen sprouts about 25 mins before we wanted to eat. Stick a couple of frozen yorkshire puddings in the oven and there you have it :). I got my slow cooker about a month ago and LOVE it.
