I need to boost my rhubarb.

We don't have as much rhubarb as I expected. I'm making a crumble and don't want to deviate as this would cause crumble deprivation sadness in the family. Would you boost it with apples, oranges or tinned peaches? I love apple crumble as much as rhubarb crumble but feel the rhubarb may 'kill' the apple flavour. I like rhub and orange stewed, but can you crumble citrus fruit? Oh the dilemma. TIA.

I would have gone with the peaches. Citrussy crumble sounds odd to me, if served with custard at least. Which did you opt for?

Went for oranges Grin

Actually it was really nice. Served with yogurt for me and ice cream for dh.

For future reference, strawberry & rhubarb is a surprisingly yummy combination! I'll have to try it with orange - sounds interesting!

It was perhaps lucky I used twice as much sugar as I meant to.
