Does it matter if it is really watery? I have simmered it for two hours. How would I thicken it up? Do I blitz it with a blitzer?

Do you have any lentils? If so, add a handful and they will absorb some of the water.

Alternatively, melt a blob of better and mix in about a tablespoon of flour to make a paste. Then add the paste to your soup while it is still on the heat, and it will disperse without going lumpy and your soup will thicken. Adding flour on its own will just make a load of lumps.

Liquidise some boiled potato and mix that in?

Cook some pasta in it, that'll thicken it! Broken up spaghetti or smallish shapes Smile
