Just got home to make apple crumble to find my packet crumble is out of date. Any ideas how to make crumble from scratch

Rub butter into flour to make breadcrumbs... about half quantity of butter to flour, then same amount of sugar as butter quantity I think.......no cookbook to hand.

Chuck some porridge oats in as well if you have some.
