Flapjacks-makes 24.
125g/ 4oz butter, plus extra for greasing
90g/ 3oz golden syrup
90g/ 3oz light muscovado sugar
250g/ 8 oz rolled oats
Shallow cake tin 20x30cm

Lightly butter the tin. Combine butter, syrup, sugar in a saucepan and heat gently until ingredients have melted and dissolved. Stir in oats and mix well. Spoon in to tin. Bake in preheated oven at 180C (350F) for about 30 mins. Leave to cool in the tin for about 5 mins, mark in to 24 fingers, then leave to cool completely. Then cut and remove from tin.

I do Petunias recipe, but 4 oz sugar, and only cook 20-25 mins.

Vary cooking temp and time to get them chewy. I think if you make them a bit thicker and cook slightly shorter time they will be more chewy.

I've never tried it with raisins etc. I suppose you can add those and reduce some of the other ingredients.
