I made this lemon cake and it didn't really rise. I followed the recipe perfectly so not sure why it didn't. The only thing I can think of is that I took the butter out of the fridge about an hour before hand and mixed everything together in one go instead of creaming the butter and sugar as I would usually. Could it be this? Could the butter being too hard have an influence? Haven't got time to make another and it looks delicious anyway the lickings certainly were but my cakes seldom rise beautifully at the best of times. Thanks for your help
