I'm vegetarian; DH and DD (who's nearly 3) are not. For my own dinner, I try to make the veggie equivalent of what they have (Quorn vs chicken, etc) but sometimes it's not possible and I end up having something that is quite obviously different. DD has asked a couple of times "Why are you having that [veggie thing]...?" but eventually she'll want to know more! I do want to be honest with her, but don't want to put her off eating meat and fish ("I don't want to if Mummy isn't", "I don't want to eat fluffy sheep! Waah!", kind of thing) until she is old enough and wise enough to make her own choice.
Any advice from any veggie mums/dads out there with non-veggie kids?
