Chicken safety question ....

Just a quick one. I cooked a chicken casserole on Sunday for tonight's dinner. Is it safe to take it out of the fridge now (lunchtime) and leave sitting in (cold) oven with timer set to come on in about 4 hrs time? I do this with beef/lamb casseroles/pies but am much more wary of chicken. What do you think?

Yep, it's safe. Undercooked chicken or that which has not been thoroughly warmed through having been cooked is the risk. It was cooked properly, cooled and left, covered, in the fridge. That's safe storage. Warming it thorough this evening, it is going to simmer (i.e. boil) for an hours or so this evening too.

Greater risk is unwashed hands, toilet trips, aimed sneezes, etc.

Enjoy ;-)
