Silly samosa and spring roll question

A friend recently gave me some frozen samosas and spring rolls. I'm supposed to defrost, then deep fry for 5mins or until done. Is there any other way to cook them? I really don't want a pan full of oil on the hob. I was thinking of defrosting them, coating them with oil with a pastry brush and then baking them for 15mins on the oven? Or do you think they'll taste vile!? TIA

I'd bung them in the oven - they should be fine. 15 minutes should be OK.

They're vegetarian ones. Thought 20 if meat. I guess all I can do is give it a go! Thanx WWB.

bump. Tried them in the oven, the samosa's weren't too bad, but the spring rolls were quite dry.

Any other ideas without using a pan of oil? Thx!

You can shallow fry them and stir them continuosly throughout.
You need the oil really to get them moist on the inside and crispy on the outside.
Or maybe try doing them in a roasting tin as you would potatoes?

Thx Avalou, will give that a try

you dont need to defrost them first.
neither do you need to worry about the inside bits cooking, as the stuffing in samosas is always cooked beforehand.
