i am currently boiling the buggery out of 2 huge corn cobs. How long do they need? Or is it as simple as tasting a bit to see if they are cooked? Don't like tasting food for other people though!!

Poke it gently with a fork if the niblets feel soft then it's done. There is also a subtle colour change from light yellow to dark yellow. Don't forget the lashings of butter yum . It's corn season here in the US and you can get 6 corn on the cobs for about 50p.

Thanks for that, children now have one each, complete with lashings of butter, as instructed!

There isn't one for me. sob.
