Squash or fruit juice/smoothly

Just that really.

My DD will drink water most of the time but sometimes asks for something flavoured. She then usually has apple juice (watered down a bit) or some squash.

My BIL likes to lecture everyone in his life about diet and nutritional always starts to witter at this. However his DD is always clutching a smoothy! Which even I know is sugary!

So what's best? Does he know it all? Or as I suspect is a very weak squash ok once or twice a day?

Squash has much less sugar in it than a smoothie because it is watered down.

Water is best, then milk. After that we're just talking degrees of sugar. Smoothies depending on brand and additives are probably better than Coke but I think one a day is probably the max I'd give anyone, same with squash...because I think these things are a habit and it's best to make water your habit.
We don't have fruit juice, smoothies or squash in the house, they are treat food for special occasions but that's just our habit.
