Piping Chocolate

PyjamasandSlippers · 02/04/2014 21:24

I'm making a birthday cake and I'd like to pipe on the words using white chocolate. How easy is this and do I need to add anything extra to the chocolate?

Thanks

It is quite difficult as the chocolate has to be warm for it to melt which means it flows quite quickly. It's doable but practice first on the work tops.

Thanks. I'll give it a go. I'm a bit nervous though!

Perhaps try to it on silicone paper, or something that you can peel off afterwards.

I tried cutting out letters in white chocolate - from memory, it wasn't a success.

It's quite tricky using chocolate, it spreads a bit too much to make the letters nice and sharp. Could you not use royal icing?

I found a great recipe by googling chocolate piping. Was cocoa powder, butter & icing sugar (can't remember quantities) and worked really well. V easy to pipe an tasty.
