which oil?

which kind of oil do you use for cooking (ie starting the onions off etc) and why?

I automatically use olive oil but dunno why.

is there anything better????

just wondered why i use it and if i'm wasting my money.

It depends on what you're making olive oil is good if your frying stuff to go in pasta dishes and the like, for stir fries I use groundnut oil or sunflower oil.

It depends cos some recipes specify a particular oil.

I tend to use Olive oil or veg oil.
