A freezing chicken question

I cooked a chicken on Friday. Ate some fri night. Had some cold on sat. Can I make a curry with the leftovers today (Sunday), eat half tonight and freeze the leftover curry?

So it will have been roasted, cooled, reheated in sauce, frozen and then eventually defrosted and reheated at some point in the future?

I would.

I have made leftover chicken into a pie mix to be used later.

strictly speaking you shouldnt as it should only be cooked once before freezing.

DramaAlpaca · 16/03/2014 17:46

I would too. It will be perfectly safe to eat.

No you should never reheat more than once. You could freeze some leftover chicken as it is though.

I would if I had to. Though best to freeze when fresh.

Yep, I do this all the time - cook chicken, eat, make a big pile of something with the leftovers and then freeze. Just make sure you cook it to a high temp and cool quickly/defrost properly every time.

You can chuck the bones in a plastic bag and stick them in the freezer to make stock at a later date too!

Ok. Thanks all.
