freezing homemade meatballs?

Good morning all :)

I am a recent convert to the hairy bikers diet cookbooks, their food is yum!
I am just about to make meatballs with fresh mince and I want to freeze some, should I cook them then freeze them or just freeze them uncooked?

thanks in advance

I always cook all of mine & then freeze them. Thaw them well & re heat.

It saves two lots of washing up!!

I am a lazy cook!

Cooked.

You could do either, but personally I would cook them and freeze them and them when i want to use them, I would cook them in the oven from frozen until piping hot all the way through.

I would worry that defrosting them uncooked might lose their shape or make them crumbly?

thank you I will cook the lot, then go out and enjoy the sunshine.

Have a nice day

Defrosting does not alter them at all - at least not mine, they are fine.

I freeze uncooked meatballs all the time. I freeze them on a baking tray then tip into a bag so they separate and I only need to defrost/cook as many as I need. I've never had a problem.

I'd cook them first
