Carnation Milk

I've got an ancient recipe from my childhood to make a chocolate mousse with a lemon jelly, melted dark chocolate and it says 'Carnation Milk'.... it says to make the jelly, then whisk the milk until it thickens, then mix in the jelly, melted chocolate and whisked milk.

Do we think it's talking about evaporated milk or condensed milk ?

It will definitely be evaporated. My mum used to make jelly with evaporated milk mixed in with jelly.

I agree that it will be evaporated milk

Fantastic.
That's what I thought, from memory, but my memory is not my best feature Grin
I was just trying to decide in my own mind if evaporated would thicken up on whisking.
Thanks

It does. Think of gypsy tart which I am now doing, mmmm!

Bunbaker · 10/03/2014 20:37

It needs to be chilled first.
