This might be a stupid question but..

I've covered a cake board with blue fondant but you can still see icing sugar on it from when I've rolled it out. Will it just dry out or do I need to do something to it to make it go away? Confused I usually cover my boards with white fondant so never noticed it before but can't do that this time as the cake is white.

I usually wipe it over with a damp piece of kitchen roll to remove the icing sugar or corn flour (does the same as icing sugar but less sticky to clean) then leave it to dry before putting the cake on top.
