My neighbours are away on honeymoon. We are housesitting. We know them a little, get on well etc and know they eat meat and are foodies. We told them that we would get a loaf of bread and milk in for them for when they return end of this week. Actually though, I want to buy them some really nice food as a wedding present/friendly neighbour thing rather than just milk and bread. Perhaps enough for a posh brekkie and a nice eve meal? They don?t need alcohol as their kitchen is full of the stuff!
Any ideas??
I had thought anice baguette, homemade loaf and some croissants
nice butter, eggs, bacon from local farm, maybe a jar of posh jam?
Sounds a bit dull though. Any ideas welcome

What time of day are they coming back?

When I come back from holiday I sometimes think it'd be great to come home & find a home cooked dish in the fridge already to heat up, but I suppose you don't know what they'll have had before coming home.

Croissants sound like a good idea ... maybe some nice fruit (am thinking along the lines of a mini continental breakfast).

It sounds like a lovely idea though.

A couple of good local steaks, plus an organic veg box?
Breakfast ideas sound good.

Smoked salmon
some great bread
unsalted butter

and then croissants and jam for breakfast

I'd be v chuffed with that.

WWWLutherKing · 09/08/2006 23:20
