The meal is at 7.30 and I only get home from work at 4.30-5.00. What can I make? The meal is for a friend who is moving abroad; there will be five of us and one of them is a professional baker, so I would like the dessert to be easy but impressive and ideally, fool-proof. I am a reasonably competent, if nervous, baker.
