Spent 2 hours cooking soup and i've burnt it! Any salvage ideas?

The bloody pasta stuck to the bottom and burnt!

Pour it into a new pot and dont scape the burnt stuff off the bottom - then taste it. Its it still stastes burnt its not salvageable. If it tastes fine then just add a bit more of whatever stuck to the bottom and serve.

thanks, i think i've just about got away with it, will add some grated cheese too! They'll never know.

perhaps you could use the burnt bits as croutons?

Put a slice of bread in the pan and put the lid on, it helps to absorb some of the burntness. Were you on MN by any chance?

LOL at this- was thinking ten inutes ago I'd have to start a thread to ask if anyone else regularly burns dinner because of MN

yes, been on here on and off all day as dd went out with my mum. The soup was ruined, cheese hasn't really done the trick. I'm going to bin it and dh can cook!

I did it a month or two ago. Then I did it again today but I am not counting that as I was definitely convinced I had turned it off - and by the time dp noticed it was burning, I was playing with ds anyway
