Quick help!! Oranges, fudge, what????

We had some tangerines which no one wanted to eat so I made a syrup with sugar and orange juice and just put in the coarsely chopped tangerines, thinking I'd crystallise them or something.

The skins have gone really hard and bitter.

So now I am thinking I can either scoop out the fruit lumps and blitz them and put them back in try to make marmalade (only I have no jars) or scoop the fruit out, chuck it and then boil the liquid to soft crack and make orange fudge.

Or something else?

Help me please!!!

TIA Wink

Have absolutely no idea, sorry. Smile

Thanks! I chucked the fruit and have got the 'fudge' setting as we speak. It will probably be foul Grin

Well, I seem to have inadvertently made marmalade Grin. I am sterilising a jar as we speak.
