Help - 12 village Mums need nibbles

Am having drinks for 12 girlfriends from my village on Tuesday night.

Last time was at someone elses house and they had a big cheeseboard, olives and crusty bread as nibbles. Need some suggestions for similar but different nibble ideas.

Why not do Greek/Middle eastern inspired mezze. Home made Hoummus, Tzatziki, Aubergine dip(babba ganoush?) Tabbouleh and some dolmades (I would buy these). All served with pitta and flat breads.

pate and melba toasts

melba toasts, pesto, sun dried tomatoes on top

puff pastry sheets, cut into circles, pesto with feta cheese chunks, in the oven until puff pastry golden and puffed.

Tuscan Meat Platter with sunblushed tomatoes.

Lots of different sliced meats arranged attractively on a plate with a huge dish of sunblushed tomatoes and olives.

focaccia and ciabatta

Red wine

oxo, thanks a lot. Collision - you are sounding very Gordon!! Thanks for your ideas.

I think I will do a platter of meats with lovely breads and maybe some artichoke/roasted peppers/toms etc.

My bf gets complete chills at that part of The F Word. She loves the idea of Gordon speaking to her like that! Not in the kitchen though!!! IYSWIM!

LOL...hardly romantic!!

DH was doing a cookery course for someone last week and kept doing the 'done' thing after everything he taught her.

She really liked it!!!

'Dice onions, fry in oil, add garlic and rice and cream blah blah. Asparagus risotto...DONE!!'

LOL. I think I have a good future birthday present there for my bf, cookery classes with your dh!!
