Butter or margarine alternatives

I've decided to remove margarine from my diet, due to hearing too much bad stuff about the trans-saturated fats in margarine and butter alternatives.

I've bought butter. However, even though it is left out all night, in the morning when i have to make the family's sandwiches, it is still fairly hard. I have given it a quick blast in hone microwave to soften it.

Does anyone know of a butter that is naturally softer, so more spreadable than others? Are the soft butters in tubs good for you, or do they contain bad fats to make them soft?

Thanks.

I think they're mixed with veg oils to make them more pliable. Not sure what this means for the trans fats.
I just nuke my butter on a cold morning (or eat it in slices on my toast Wink)

Just microwave it, job done. We leave ours in a butter dish in the cupboard, not the fridge unless it's summer.
