Am veggi so clueless. Dh bought for recipe which I know he won't make and they need using. Have 2 DC under 3 so something they could eat and that could freeze would be best. Needs to be dairy free.

Is it possible to slow roast or something? Thanks

Pop them in a dish, cover with a tin of chopped tomato and sliced mushrooms (we also use capers, sliced olives and gherkins) and cook in the oven on Gas 5 (or electric equiv) for about 30 mins. Dead simple.

Also add peppers, onions, baby sweetcorn, thin carrots, courgettes, in fact just about anything in that. And some purée.

Thanks. Will they be soft when cooked like this?

To be soft they need to be slow cooked for about 2 hours. Once cooked, what you've made will freeze well, though.

Slice some onion, can of cider, pork/chicken stock, pinch of tarragon and some whole grain mustard. Cannelini beans work well too. Cut the pork up into chunks and slow cook (160C or slow cooker) for 1 hour or so.

Also slices of apple!

Slow roast in a bbq sauce?

Onesleeptillwembley · 05/02/2014 16:14

Cut and curry.

Thanks everyone - some great options here. Will decide tonight and get cooking!
