Family Meals

Hi everyone,

At what age is it a good idea for children to start eating meals with their parents? DS is nearly 14 months old and (generally) good at feeding himself, using his fingers anyway (though is enthusiastic if not very accurate with cutlery!). He likes the whole food thing and I know that it's important for families to have established meal times. Do I need to start doing this now or is it OK to wait until he's a bit older?

Any advice very gratefully accepted!

We have always tried to get the children eating at the same time as us even if it's not the same stuff as us since weaning them at shock horror 4-6 months.
