Slow cooker lamb curry

Apologies. Another slow cooker recipe request! I've got friends over at the weekend. Planning to do a curry night, but we're off to a pub first to watch the rugby. So I'm planning to make a veg curry the day before to heat up later. I can do a chicken katsu (sauce prepared) when we're back. But I also wanted to do a lamb curry in the slow cooker.

I've done this before by chucking the lamb in with curry paste, tomatoes, potatoes, onions and coconut milk and to be fair it was pretty lovely.

But as we've got (foodie) guests over, I wondered if anyone had a posh recipe I could try instead?

This one is copied from a Sara Lewis slow cooking book, now sure if it is posh enough, but it is certainly yummy!

This is a nice easy recipe and very tasty too.

Lamb Rogan Josh
ghee
750g diced lamb
2 onions
3 garlic cloves
2.5cm fresh root ginger, peeled and chopped
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
2 teaspoons ground coriander
2 teaspoons cumin seeds, roughly crushed
2 teaspoons garam masala
1/2 teaspoon crushed dried chillies
squish of lemon juice
400g can chopped tomatoes
300ml lamb stock
4 tablespoons natural yoghurt or creme fraiche

Recipe
Heat ghee in a frying pan and add the lamb and fry until browned. Transfer to the slow cooker pot.
Add the onions to the frying pan and fry gently until softened. Stir in the garlic, ginger, spices and dried chillies and cook for a couple of minutes. Add the tomatoes and stock. Bring to the boil whilst stirring.
Pour the mixture over the lamb in the slow cooker pot and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
Just before serving stir in the yoghurt/creme fraiche and garnish with chopped fresh coriander.
