What did I buy?

French market in town on Saturday. I bought some nuts and dried fruits at one stall....but I don't actually know what one of the dried fruits is - my French doesn't extend too far and the seller didn't speak a hell of a lot of English. Anyway...they look like big soft raisins, slightly darker and a bit redder and smoother than normal ones. But they are very sweet with a slightly cinammony sort of taste.Gorgeous in muesli but I'd like to know what they are.

Any idea please?

Dried cranberries? dried cherries?

I think they're too big for cranberries. And they don't taste like cherries. A very spicy christmasy taste. I did ask if they had cinnamon on them but he said not.

Crimson raisins? I've got a little pack of macadamia nuts and crimson raisins but I haven't opened them yet so don't know about the taste

Ooh... that sounds intesting. Wonder if they will taste cinammony too....
