If you are anything like me about 1.5 years over - and I bet they taste fine!

foxinsocks · 30/07/2006 20:36

do poppy seeds expire?

Joolstoo · 30/07/2006 20:41

cone on then - they'll be in bloom by the time we get an answer

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 30/07/2006 20:43

well, neither joolstoo nor mercy are right. It was the fact that they were from sainsbury's that made me look. haven't shopped at Sainsbury's since we moved house...

I can't believe I'm old enough to have something with that date in my cupboard. surely I only left home a couple of years ago...

If it wasn't for the fact my MIL is sitting in the same room as me I'd swear you might be her!! She is notorious for out of date things in her cupboard -we've found stuff in her kitchen that has expiry dates from before our DD was born (and shes 6.5)

melpomene · 30/07/2006 21:34

Last year I cleaned out a cupboard and found a jar of marjoram with a sell by date of 1994.

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 30/07/2006 21:38

do you know what's really bad? although I said it was the sainsbury's/moving house thing that made me look - I was still way out - they were three years out of date when we moved! and I brought them with us!
