Healthy snacks for dd aged 12

Looking for ideas for healthy snacks for dd aged 12. I want to drastically reduce her sugar intake, she is quite picky about what she eats and I have let this slip for too long. I'm shopping on a budget too.

I need stuff she can grab quickly when she comes in from school, preferably not baked, as I am gluten free.

At the moment I buy tins/pots of fruit because she doesn't eat apples, satsumas, only berries, which are expensive. However, I'm aware fruit has high sugar content too. I also buy snack cheeses and cherry tomatoes. She likes slices of salami too.

I struggle to get her to drink enough. We have never bought fizzy pop but she drinks mostly juice. I've now started buying fizzy water and am diluting her orange juice half and half with that. She also drinks milk.

I'm trying to get dh on my side and asked him to stop buying biscuits etc.

Any other quick snacks anyone can think of? Smile

I feel like sugar has crept into our lives. I just wasn't aware how much sugar we were consuming until I cut it out myself. It seems there are crazy amounts of sugar in everything and I hope if I can cut it out most of the time, it won't be the end of the world if she buys herself sweets once a fortnight or has a biscuit/cake with her lunch at school.
