Passata with basil in chilli con carne?

Can I use Passata with basil already added to make chilli con carne? Or will it taste weird?

It depends what you call weird really. Who would ever think chocolate would go well with Chili or Venison, but it works. I am sure that it will be fine, just possibly different.

Just add thyme and chilli as well. It'll be fine.

Thank you for the replies. Couldn't make it too hot as it was for the kids so I bought some unadulterated Passata and they enjoyed it.
