What snacks do you give your kids after school that you consider to be healthy - aside from fruit.
TIA

Yogurt but usually biscuits

We aren't super strict in that i think after school is a good time to have the sort of food you might not put in a lunch box/ have as a meal, so is the time we'd have home made cake to be honest! (Often wholemeal/fuity/similar).

Other snacks could be veggies and humous, toast and PB, oatcakes and cheese.

Depends on what they are eating the rest of the day.

Whoops! It's Friday... an M&S pink iced doughnut! Sorry. It's usually a brioche.

lol, glad to see I'm not the only one that isn't very good at this. Mine usually have things like biscuits / crisps / popcorn / microwave chips....... reading the sugar threads though I'm thinking that although I eat fairly well the kids probably have way too much sugar in their diets so just wondered if this could be an area to cut down on it.

We normally do a rotation of:

Brown soda bread toasted with butter
Hot chocolate
popcorn

OR

Homemade pancakes with some nutella
popcorn
milk

OR

Banana & honey smoothie (1 banana, good dollop of honey, top with milk and whizz in the blender)

Occassionally they have a seal bar (aldi version of penguin) or a small bag of salt and vinegar crisps.

in the summer I sometimes give fruit smoothies/frozen yogurt with fruit but without sugar
