Is there anything I can make with avocado that will 'keep'?

Hi. I buy avocados for my son as he can't have dairy or nuts so it's a good high-fat food for him...but he's only 9mo so I really don't need to use a whole one each time and it ends up going disgusting if I put the other half in the fridge as they are so expensive I hate it if any gets wasted.

Is there anything that I can do to make it last 24 hours (or longer?) or any recipes that use avocado to use up the spare half?

Thanks

I think this works - I've done it before. Cut the avocado in half, remove stone, and rub one half with lemon juice and wrap up in cling film very tightly straight away, put in the fridge. Will keep for a day ish.

I mash or puree any leftover and freeze it, it does brown a little but tastes fine. I'll use it in a smoothie with mango, banana and spinach.

Thanks - all the cookery books I've got say not to freeze it which is why I didn't try. I'll give both those ideas a go then!

I just wrap the other half in cling film it's fine

Otherwise add lime/ lemon juice and some diced tomatoes to make a guacamole that keeps quite well

avacado blitzed with a bit of rum, bit of lemon or lime and some icing sugar is very nice! : )

Keep the stone in the avocado and it won't go brown.
I've done this before when making guacamole and chuck the stone in the bowl until ready to serve.
