I've done plenty of cakes over the years, but haven't done a 'doll' cake since I did one for my sister's birthday when I was 12. Obviously that time I used bog standard sugarpaste and it was fine - for a cake decorated by a 12 year old.
I've spent a lot of time looking around at other cakes and thinking about how I want dd's to look and want to include some nice movement/drape etc into the skirts.
Am I best just sticking with sugarpaste, or would I be better of using mexican or flowerpaste to get the drape and swag?
I'm also considering using edible lace to form a part of the skirts, does anyone have any experience of using it at all?
Finally, dd's cake is actually going to be a fairy princess - any ideas on what's the best way to do the wings? I've been searching online for a doll that comes with wings, but none of them match my colour scheme (pale pink and pale green).
Honestly, I don't know what it is about this particular cake. I usually love planning a good cake decorating session but I am really nervous about htis one.
