Frozen leeks, does anybody know where can I buy them from?

Assuming they can still be bought frozen?

I read in a forum that you can buy them, but that was 2 years ago.

I found them to be quite expensive, and don't want any wastage.

Looking forward to making leek, potato snd stilton soup for lunches over the winter Smile

Iceland.. farm foods off the top of my head.

Why do they have to be frozen?

If it's just for convenience of having then ready chopped, asda do fresh packs of chopped leeks in the fruit and veg section

farmfoods

chopsy, preferably frozen just for convenience and no wastage.

I'll only be using them in soups, which won't be very often.

Thanks for your input, all of you. Smile

I have never seen frozen leeks, I'm afraid - but there is nothing to stop you buying them fresh, using what you need, and chopping and freezing the rest - that's what I'd do. Mind you, then dh would complain about me filling the freezer with low-value items - I don't let that stop me, though!

sorry chopsy, just read your post properly Blush

I'll have a look in Asda at the ready chopped ones as well as frozen.

SDT, just trying to save time really, hence the frozen idea and again not going to be using them much, so don't want to invest too much time chopping (nothing to do with the fact I'm too lazy Grin ).

Morrisons have frozen, sliced leeks. I also make packs up myself when leeks are on special offer, sometimes with some diced carrot added, sometimes not.

Buy leeks, wash them, cut them up and freeze them. They freeze 'loose' so you can go back time and again for a handful for soups stews etc. No flavour is lost either.
