slow cooker - stupid question

Hi - I got one for christmas - the plan being that I can put in on in the morning and have tea ready for when I get home - But I'm out the house for almost 12 hours so is this too long - does it matter if you go over time on the low setting or do i need to delay the start somehow?Ø

It'll be fine on low. My stuff is in that long because dh and I don't eat till the dc are in bed. In fact, sometimes when I scoop some out about 5pm for them and there's barley in, it's not quite done.

I used to put mine on high as soon as I woke up, to get it up to temperature, then drop it to low when I left the house for the day. Worked just fine!
