Help me with my ham!

Am cooking a ham tommorrow night, I was going to try nigella's come recipe but I've never cooked ham before and was wondering, do you just serve ham without a sauce or gravy of any kind? I really fancy a roast kind of dinner, I don't really like meat without sauce. Going to do roast new potatoes I think an red cabbage. So does any one have a recipe for a ham with a sauce? It a sauce I could serve with the nigella ham?

I have also seen a lovely looking recipe in waitrose mag which is a lot like ham in coke but uses half coke half stout. The glaze is pretty similar to nigella's. seems like a waste to chuck all that cooking liquid away?

Thanks in advance!

The cooking liquid is just too salty to use for sauce. Traditional sauces to serve with ham are cumberland sauce and parsley sauce. Or how about cider and mustard sauce

I do onion sauce with mine, it's lovely.

My DH thinks the only acceptable sauce for ham is parsley.

Ok maybe Cumberland sauce. What about the liquid that comes out of the ham while its roasting in the glaze, rather than the coke used for boiling, if that is too salty?
