I'm having 22 people for dinner a week on saturday - it seemed like a good idea in January, basically having all the people we owe at the one time. i thought the best thing to do would be to have a buffet type dinner, not being able to get 22 round a table, and thought of two hot dishes with salad and rice, perhaps a chicken dish and a beef or lamb or pork dish, does anyone have any suggestions, a fullproof good recipe for this type of thing, something I can freeze?

A large pot of chilli (which goes very well with rice or tortilla chips).

Cous Cous Royale - chicken, lamb, merguez, brochettes - the lot. Gorgeous.

We've done this before with 2 different curries, one med. veggie and a hotter meat one, lots of naan, bhajees etc. It was fun. Good luck.

I would second curry, also improves with freezing/reheating.

We did the chilli idea at our old house and it went down a treat.

I did veggie chilli and a meat one not to spicy as not everyone likes it spicy but i need have hot sauce available

We did jacket spuds
Rice
Green Salad
Nacho's
Sour cream
Salsa

and basically let everyone help them self everyone said they enjoyed it and it looked really nice and was pretty cheap to do
