Brining a turkey

Anyone done it? I haven't cooked a turkey for years but saw a fab recipe for a brine recently. Sod's law, I've lost it! It's not Nigella's recipe and it has soft brown sugar and apple juice in it, googled but no joy. Done some research and I'm improvising.

I've put in the right quantities of salt and sugar, juniper berries, peppercorns, cloves, star anise, cinnamon sticks, apple juice and a few bottles of halloween beer (slightly spicy but no-one really took to drinking it). I know I have to cook the turkey for slightly less time than a non brined one but does anyone have any other tips?
